Postdoc/Scientists In Stem Cell Research
Postdoctoral research associate or scientist positions are available immediately in the Stem Cell Research Program. Our laboratory focuses on the neural differentiation pathway of primate (human and nonhuman) embryonic stem (ES) cells; cells that have the potential to give rise to almost all cell types in the body. We are establishing in vitro models of ES cell differentiation to neuroepithelia and then to specialized neural cells such as dopaminergic neuron, motoneurons, and oligodendrocytes. By using these differentiation model systems, we are dissecting mechanisms underlying neural fate determination and generating neural cells for experimental cell therapy. Applicants should have a PhD degree or equivalents, with experience in one or more of the following techniques such as gene cloning and vector construction, neural electrophysiology, neurotransplantation. Apply to Dr. Su-Chun Zhang, Waisman Center, 1500 Highland Ave., Madison, WI 53705. Email: zhang@waisman.wisc.edu.
